Little Nick
Nick was a little deer who got lost in the forest. He was walking with the other deer, but he accidentally walked away from them. Now, he was all alone and very sad.
One day, while looking for his family, he walked into a farmer’s field. He saw some people standing in the yard and walked toward them. At first, the farmer’s dog barked at Nick. But Nick was very sweet and friendly, so they quickly became friends.
Everyone on the farm welcomed Nick. The farmer’s children loved his soft brown eyes and his spotted fur. The farmer allowed Nick to stay in the field with the cows, and soon, Nick and the farm animals became great friends. Nick was happy, but he still missed his real family.
One day, while he was playing, Nick looked out past the farm and saw a group of deer. "That looks like my family!" he thought happily.
It really was his family! Nick thanked all the farm animals and said goodbye to them. Everyone was sad to see Nick go, but they knew he belonged with his family in the wild.
