Spike's Courageous Jump
The Story
It was a wonderful snowy day, and the three friends, Barnaby, Pip, and Spike, were enjoying playing in the snow. Barnaby suggested excitedly, "Let's have a jumping challenge from the top of that high hill!"
As usual, Barnaby was the first to jump. He took a deep breath and made a fantastic leap, landing lightly on the snow. Next, it was Pip's turn, who was feeling a bit scared but managed an impressive jump as well.
When it was Spike's turn, he felt terrified. The hill looked very high. He tried to be brave so his friends wouldn't laugh at him. He jumped, but fell awkwardly into a snowdrift. Instead of helping him, Barnaby and Pip burst out laughing.
Spike felt let down and sad by their reaction and left. After he was alone, he decided to prove to himself and to them that he could do it. He began to practice over and over again. He kept falling at first, but he didn't give up and continued trying until he finally succeeded in jumping perfectly from the top of the hill.
The next day, while Barnaby and Pip were playing, Spike surprised them with a stunning jump from the highest point of the hill. They stood there amazed. He had proven to them that he was not a coward. Barnaby and Pip felt deeply ashamed and rushed to apologize to Spike.
Spike forgave them because he loved them, and the friends went back to playing together. Barnaby and Pip learned that true friendship means supporting and encouraging friends in difficult times, not laughing at them.
