Azure the Kingfisher and the Difficult Choice
Once upon a time, along a sun-kissed coast, lived a magnificent little bird named Azure. Her feathers shimmered with a thousand shades of blue and orange, just like a flying jewel. Azure loved solitude and the sound of the waves, which is why she always lived near the great blue sea. She was very cautious and knew she had to stay away from humans to protect her future family.
One day, she felt it was time to build a nest for her eggs. She flew for a long time, searching for the perfect spot. "It must be safe," she thought, "far from any danger on the land." Finally, she saw a tall cliff that plunged into the sea. On one side, a rock jutted out like a small balcony over the water. "Perfect!" she chirped happily. "No one can reach me here!" With great effort, she built a cozy nest and laid her precious eggs inside.
One afternoon, while Azure was away hunting for shimmering little fish for her dinner, the sky turned dark. a strong, impetuous wind began to blow, turning the calm sea into an angry giant. Huge waves crashed against the cliff, rising higher and higher, until they reached the rock where the nest was. With terrible force, the water swept everything away, carrying Azure's little dreams with it.
When Azure returned, her beak full of food, she found the rock bare and wet. Her heart sank. "Oh, how miserable I am!" she cried in despair. "I tried to escape the dangers of the land, choosing this rock that I believed was a friend. Instead, the very sea I love so much has betrayed me in the cruelest way!"
