Barbolito’s Bad Day
Barbolito was a little boy. He was short and had curly hair. The other boys in his classroom always laughed at him and made fun of him.
One day, his mother saw him crying. "What is wrong, Barbolito?" she asked.
"All the boys make fun of me because I look different," Barbolito explained sadly.
"They are silly boys," his mother said gently. "Children sometimes say mean things to make themselves feel big and important. Don't worry, I will talk to your teacher."
The next day at school, the teacher called Barbolito to her desk. "You should not cry when people say mean things," she told him. "Instead, why don't you tell them about the exciting things you love to do? Tell them about chess and scuba diving (swimming deep underwater). This way, the other kids will get to know the real you and see how special you are."
Later that day, Barbolito stood up and talked to the class about his amazing adventures under the sea. A lot of children listened happily because they were very interested. By sharing his stories, Barbolito made many new friends.
The Lesson:
Don't let mean words hide who you are. Share your talents and the things you love, and the right friends will appreciate you.
