The Farmer and His Wife

The Farmer and His Wife

Can a farmer learn to appreciate his wife’s hard work? This humorous tale shows how switching roles can lead to understanding and harmony!

A farmer once said to his wife, “You’re lazy. You work slowly and waste your time.” His wife was angry and replied, “You’re wrong! Stay home tomorrow. I’ll go to the field and do your work. You do mine here at home.”

The farmer agreed happily. His wife said, “Milk the cow. Feed the pigs. Wash the utensils. Take care of the hen. Spin the yarn.”

The next day, the wife went to the field and the farmer stayed home. He took a pot and went to milk the cow—but got a strong kick! Then he went to the pigsty and hit his head on a beam. He tried to feed the hen but forgot to spin the yarn.
